Introducing Embassy Arts Foundation Building Community Through Dance and Creative Growth

A dance class can be the first place a child learns confidence, the place a teen finds their voice, or the hour in a busy week when an adult gets to breathe, move, and feel strong again.

That is the heart behind Embassy Arts Foundation.

We are a young and growing arts organization based in Hamilton, Alabama, with a big love for dance, creativity, and community. Our goal is simple, but meaningful. We want to create a welcoming place where students can learn, grow, move, and feel at home.

Right now, Embassy Arts Foundation operates at the Hamilton Rec Center, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to begin our work there. We are still in the early development phase, which means every class, every student, and every family matters deeply to us. We are building something with care, and we are excited to invite Hamilton and the surrounding communities to be part of it from the beginning!

Whether your child is taking their very first dance class, your teen is ready for a creative challenge, or you are looking for a Pilates class that helps you reconnect with your body, we would love to welcome you.

Embassy Arts Foundation is built on community first

Embassy Arts Foundation was created with more than classes in mind. Classes matter, of course. Strong technique, consistent training, and creative growth are all important parts of what we do.

But we also believe the arts can help people feel connected and grounded.

In a small community, those connections mean so much. Parents get to know other parents. Students cheer each other on. Younger dancers look up to older dancers. Teachers learn how to support each student as a whole person, not just as someone in a class.

Our dream is to help build a space where families in Hamilton, Marion County, and nearby areas can come together through movement and creativity.

That means we want our classes to feel:

  • Welcoming

Students should feel comfortable walking in, even if they have never danced before.

  • Encouraging

Growth takes time. We want students to feel supported as they learn new skills.

  • Creative

Dance is more than steps. It is also expression, musicality, imagination, and personal style.

  • Community-minded

We want to be part of Hamilton in a positive and meaningful way.

We know we are at the beginning of this journey. That makes it even more special. Every new student helps shape the energy and future of Embassy Arts Foundation.

Meet the people behind Embassy Arts Foundation

Embassy Arts Foundation is led by owner Carlee Pohle, with the support and talent of staff members Lauren Greenwood and Sarah Stegall.

Together, we share a love for teaching, choreography, leadership, and the growth that comes through the arts. We care about helping students build skill, but we also care about helping them build confidence, discipline, and joy.

As teachers, we never want to stop growing. We are committed to continuing to learn, improve, and lead with humility. Our students deserve teachers who keep developing their craft. Our community deserves leaders who show up with heart and purpose.

That is the kind of team we are working to become every day.

We are not trying to rush the process. We are building thoughtfully. We are listening, learning, and growing step by step. That is part of what makes this season so exciting.

When families join us now, they are not just signing up for a class. They are helping plant the roots of something we hope will serve Hamilton and the surrounding areas for years to come.

We offer classes for many ages, interests, and experience levels

One of the most exciting parts of Embassy Arts Foundation is the variety of classes we are working to offer. We want students to have access to strong training, but we also want them to explore different styles and find what feels right for them.

Some students come in with big dreams. Some come in shy and unsure. Some just know they love music and movement. All of those starting points are welcome.

Our class offerings include movement, dance, and artistic development options such as:

  • Pilates

  • Ballet

  • Contemporary

  • Jazz

  • Tap

  • Lyrical

  • Choreographer development

  • Internship opportunities

Each style brings something different to a student’s growth.

Ballet helps build a strong foundation

Ballet is often a great starting point because it teaches posture, control, body awareness, and discipline. Students learn how to move with intention. They also begin to understand musical timing, balance, and alignment.

For young dancers, ballet can create a foundation that supports many other styles. For beginners, it provides structure and a clear path for learning.

Jazz brings energy and personality

Jazz is full of rhythm, style, and expression. It gives students a chance to move with confidence and learn how to perform with energy.

This class can be especially fun for students who enjoy upbeat music, sharp movement, and big personality. Jazz helps dancers become more comfortable using space and showing confidence in front of others.

Tap teaches rhythm in a hands-on way

Tap is both dance and music. Students learn how their feet can create sound, timing, and patterns. It can be a wonderful class for children who like to move, count, and make noise in a structured way.

Tap also builds focus. Students listen closely, repeat patterns, and learn how small details can change the sound and feel of a step.

Contemporary and lyrical encourage expression

Contemporary and lyrical classes allow students to explore movement in a personal and emotional way. These styles often help dancers connect movement with feeling, music, and storytelling.

For teens especially, these classes can offer a healthy creative outlet. Students learn that dance can be both athletic and expressive. They can grow in strength while also learning how to communicate through movement.

Pilates supports strength and body awareness

Pilates can be a helpful class for dancers and non-dancers alike. It focuses on control, posture, strength, and mindful movement.

For adults, it can be a great way to take time for yourself during a busy week. For dancers, it can support better control and stability. For beginners, it offers a gentle but focused way to build strength.

We want Pilates to feel approachable, not intimidating. You do not need to arrive already strong or flexible. You just need to be willing to start.

Beginners are truly welcome here

Starting something new can feel scary. We understand that.

Parents may wonder if their child is “too late” to begin dance. Teens may worry that everyone else already knows what they are doing. Adults may feel unsure about walking into a class after years away from movement.

At Embassy Arts Foundation, beginners are not an afterthought. They are an important part of our community.

We believe a strong teacher meets students where they are. That means helping each person learn step by step, without shame or pressure. A student’s first class should not feel like a test. It should feel like an invitation.

For children, that may mean learning how to follow class structure, listen to music, and try simple movements. For teens, it may mean building confidence while learning technique. For adults, it may mean reconnecting with movement in a way that feels supportive and doable.

Progress looks different for every student. One child may finally point their toes with confidence. Another may remember a full combination for the first time. A teen may create a piece of choreography that feels honest and brave. An adult may leave class feeling stronger than when they walked in.

Those moments matter.

Artistic development gives students room to grow as creators

Dance training is important, but we also love helping students grow as artists.

That is why we are excited about classes and opportunities centered on artistic development, including choreographer development and internships. These experiences can help students learn what happens beyond taking class.

A student interested in choreography may begin asking questions such as:

  • How do I create movement that matches the music?

  • How do I tell a story through dance?

  • How do I teach movement clearly to others?

  • How do I use formations, timing, and spacing?

  • How do I take an idea and shape it into a finished piece?

These are valuable skills for young artists. They teach planning, communication, patience, and leadership.

Internship opportunities can also give students a closer look at teaching and the responsibilities that come with leading a class. Students can learn how to support younger dancers, assist with class flow, and understand what it means to serve others through the arts.

Our hope is to help students see that dance offers many paths. Some may perform. Some may teach. Some may choreograph. Some may simply carry the confidence and discipline they learned into other parts of life.

All of those outcomes are worth celebrating.

We are proud to begin at the Hamilton Rec Center

The Hamilton Rec Center is where Embassy Arts Foundation currently operates, and we are thankful to begin in a place that already serves local families.

Starting here gives us the chance to connect with the community in a direct and personal way. Families know where to find us. Students can begin training close to home. New dancers can try a class without feeling like they have to travel far or enter an unfamiliar setting.

We see this as a starting point, not a final destination.

Our drive is to keep growing as teachers, choreographers, and leaders in the community. We want to continue learning what local families need. We want to build class options that make sense for students in this area. We want to create opportunities that feel meaningful and accessible.

Growth takes time, and we are ready to do the work.

What families can expect when they join us

When a family joins Embassy Arts Foundation, we want them to feel informed, welcomed, and encouraged.

A new class can bring plenty of questions. What should my child wear? What if they are nervous? What if they have never danced before? Will they be behind?

Those questions are normal. We want families to know that the first step is simply showing up. We can help guide the rest.

Students can expect teachers who care about both effort and attitude. We want dancers to work hard, but we also want them to enjoy the process. We want them to learn respect for the classroom, kindness toward other students, and pride in their own progress.

Families can expect us to keep growing too. Since Embassy Arts Foundation is in its early stages, we are still building, adjusting, and dreaming. We see that as a gift. It gives us the chance to shape this foundation alongside the community we hope to serve.

We would love for you to be part of the beginning

There is something special about being part of the early days of a new arts organization. You get to watch it grow from the ground up. You get to see the first classes, the first friendships, the first breakthroughs, and the first big dreams take shape.

Embassy Arts Foundation is here because we believe Hamilton and the surrounding communities deserve a place where dance and creative growth are nurtured with care.

If you have a child who loves to move, a teen who wants to grow as an artist, or a personal goal to begin moving again through Pilates, we would be so happy to welcome you.

You do not need to have experience. You do not need to know the perfect class right away. You just need to take the first step.

We are excited, humbled, and grateful to begin this journey. Thank you for welcoming Embassy Arts Foundation into the Hamilton community. We cannot wait to meet you in class.
